This Week, I am a Concert-Goer
I don’t normally attend many concerts.
They’re loud. Crowded. Hot. Uncomfortable. And I can never remember all the lyrics to a song. So what’s the fun in it if you can’t sing along? Plus, I’m not the hugest music fan ever, so I feel like I don’t exactly belong.
But when I love a band, really, truly, enjoy a band and their music, I love concerts.
So this past Sunday, I went to the Tenth Avenue North concert with an awesome friend, and it was fantastic! I haven’t been to a concert in awhile, let alone a concert for a Christian band. I really felt it was an emotional concert, filled with a lot of great people worshiping God. Here’s my favorite song of theirs (“By Your Side”), set to an awesome video:
And this Thursday, I’ll be seeing my favorite band of all time, Jars of Clay! I absolutely, completely, forever, love and adore this band. I can never get enough Jars of Clay in my daily life. Their songs have kept me going, inspired me to be more, and do more. I love their lyrics, their voices, and everything about them. PLUS! I get to meet them on Thursday. WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS HOW EXCITED I AM!
And here is Jars of Clay, “Flood”:
ENJOY the videos and be thinking of me on Thursday as I meet Jars of Clay and stumble over my words, probably make a fool of myself, but leave, completely happy and probably overwhelmed!
Pants on the Ground
Every season of American Idol has one. This year it’s General Larry Platt, a 60-something year old veteran that came out to audition (uhhh, yeah, he’s way over the age limit) and graced us all with this wonderful song:
And this new sensation is OUT OF CONTROL! There is a Facebook page, and many, crazy remixes and covers. I hate to admit it, but I love it. Check out some of my favorites!
