Reviewing Policy
If you are an author or publisher who would like to send me a YA or middle-grade book, ARC, e-book, or audiobook for review, please email me at melissa.higey@gmail.com. I have extensive experience reading YA and have my master’s degree in library and information science with a focus on young adult services. I have worked in publishing, previously, and also as a copyeditor, and currently work in the digital distribution industry. I have been reviewing books on blogs for several years now. This blog has continued to grow since it’s creation, and currently receives about 500 unique hits a month (with every month adding more and more).

  • I will consider primarily YA fiction for review, however I am open to reviewing YA nonfiction and adult fiction that could have crossover appeal to young adults, especially fantasy. I would also be interested in reviewing graphic novels and manga.
  • I will review every book I receive, as long as it is expected. I can’t promise to review unexpected books, but as long as I can fit it into my schedule (I am a student after all) I will review.
  • You can read my blog for my review style–I tend to be positive. However, I will be honest.
  • I don’t make any money from this blog, it’s simply for mine and my reader’s benefit. The opinions stated on this blog are mine, and mine alone, and especially not my employers’.
  • I am also interested in author reviews, giveaways, and contests. I’d be happy to work with you to promote a book!

Thank you!

Getting Connected

Hey world! This blog is due for a revitalization and updates! I will be blogging here again, with a much more purposeful focus: writing about the latest teen book releases (and the classics), plus topics that are important to teens worldwide. I’ve been a fan of teen literature ever since, well, I’ve been a teen!

I’m looking forward to putting my small mark on the world through this blog. I’ve been writing for years, on and off the Internet. My interests span far and wide, but essentially, I’m a kid at heart.

I’m also looking forward to hearing from my readers as well, so feel free to hit me back with a comment!

Watch out the rest of this week for my take on the US Supreme Court and the case of the 13-year-old that was strip searched, Melina Marchetta’s Printz-award winning novel, Jellicoe Road, and I’ll be discussing all the buzz surrounding the upcoming movie, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

Till later!

She Loves Books!

Hello world! Welcome to bibliochic.com, my awesome place on the web to share my love of books! Maybe you’re here because you are a friend of mine. Maybe you are here because you love books. Maybe you’re like how the FREAK did I get here? Well, the reason doesn’t matter. Just enjoy. And comment. AND RSS ME! Seriously. If you don’t know what RSS is and if you’re not subscribing to blogs around the world, you are so not with it. If you don’t know what the RSS button to the side is, PLEASE COMMENT AND I WILL TRY TO HELP YOUR POOR SOUL.

Thanks much–look for my first bookishly awesome entry in about 15 minutes! Ciao my peeps!
